We are on a mission to bring awareness, educate and empower about the importance of African Body Movements and its contribution to our everyday health and wellness. That you want to have a good time spending the afternoon meeting new people with the similar interests, reconnect with old friends, initiate yourself and others to our approach to dancing and culture, open your horizon to some of the plehora of cultural diversity and options that Congo, Haiti and Kenya have to offer; this semi-private is for you!!! If you have experienced it before and want to continue to be part of the tradition, level up or gauge your progress; this semi-private is for you!!!
Tampa is now the home for Chakacha and Brayo Judah's African Body Movements system. Our approach to Haitian Folklore is to build a solid foundation in the essentials that define the dance. This means that the sacred aspect of it is initiated and the socio-cultural importance is introduced. All this paired with the basic techniques, that once the body is conditionned to, can be solid base for more advance techniques and bridged with performance and entertainment versions of the dance.
Within the past year, dancers all around are realising how important Brayo Judah's African Body Movements is when you are dancing an Afro based dance! You CANNOT execute in all integrity if you don't get down to the foundation of it all... It doesn't matter how good of a salsa, ballroom, bachata, kompa or kizomba dancer you are! You'll do the steps well, but you will lack of that flavor that makes it closer to authenticity!!!
TampaBay Afrofit wants to bring you options and opportunities that encourages the exploration of body movements that are typical to the Afro-Caribbean traditions. It is the only place in the USA that teaches Chakacha exclusively in its totality. The training is rigorous and challenging, but extremely rewarding! Haitian folklore is a strong pillar as well... Too often underestimated, but capable of opening a range of bodily awareness and unlock joy that cannot be described.
So don't procrastinate and reserve your spot by registering on line or contacting Natacha Zamor via PM.
